Biggest Ever VW Test
The UK’s number one magazine for motorhome testing, Which Motorhome, has recently completed one its biggest ever group tests in the VW campervan market.
A total of eleven VW’s were tested and included one exclusive feature of the German-built Volkwsagen HymerCar Cape Town. This was the Cape Town’s first UK appearance and is a brand new range of HymerCar van conversions.
Editor, Peter Vaughan, says ‘The VW camper market has been enjoying a real boom in sales over the last couple of years and we couldn’t wait to see how Hymer’s entry into this highly competitive market would fare against established UK players.’
The Cape Town was compared against ten UK manufactured campers, all under the VW T5 format and were variants that eschew the most common side common side kitchen style of layouts.
Vans that were tested ranged from the Autohaus Quinte, Bilbo’s Lezan and Nexa (current Campervan of the Year holder) the CMC Reimo Multistyle and the Doubleback, plus many more.
All the campers were tested by Which Motorhome’s highly experienced road testers, who found a surprising variation between them. The results as well as the winner will be published in December’s issue of the magazine which is available from today (14th November) onwards.
Regular subscribers of the magazine will take no surprise when reading about detailed motorhome tests, of which can be very reassuring and informative for many readers. Since 1986 the magazine has been at the top of its game when it comes to motorhomes and campervans, including features on various styles and makes of home from homes to suit all kinds of budgets.
