Camping Festivals for the Whole Family
Motorhome Holidays
Getting away from it all rarely means ‘bring the kids along’ but fear not – motorhome holidays with the children are now more appealing than ever. Family festivals are where the fun is this year and it’s Motorhome Insurance have compiled a list to help you choose from!
Camp Bestival 1st-4th August
The ever popular Camp Bestival is one the best known family-friendly festivals on the calendar. Not only do under 10’s gain completely free entry but the entertainment available for children is top notch! From circus skills, fairground rides, live performances (including the notorious Mr Tumble) and more, there will be no worries with regards to keeping the children occupied. As for you, there is also plenty on the bill from live music performances, theatre, comedy and overall fun and games!
Although camping spots are available- the perfect solution would be to book into the relaxed and quiet Sandyholme Holiday Park which is only six miles away in Dorchester. This also has a children’s playground and games room on site for those not quite exhausted from the festival. Prices start from £67.65.
Beautiful Days 16th-18th August
Now entering its 11th year, Beautiful Days is one of the staple family festivals with a huge following. There are five music stages as well as comedy stages and theatre tents. With a specific children’s area in the middle of the festival it is easy for parents and guardians to relax while the little ones enjoy the entertainment on offer which includes a dressing up area, circus, arts and crafts, story-telling and more! Tickets sell fast for this festival so get in quick!
Campsites are available within very easy reach of the festival including the Forest Glade Holiday Park in Cullompton which has the extra appeal of a swimming pool, shops and an adventure playground. Two nights pitch will cost just £35.00.
Towersey Festival 22nd – 26th August
In Oxfordshire, the Towersey Festival takes place during the latter part of August and while some festivals can leave children as an afterthought, Towersey Festival has done the complete opposite! Children’s entertainment is very high on the agenda with five dedicated children’s marquees including various workshops to take part in.
White Mark Farm is around seven miles from the festival and is a family run campsite with pitches available amongst local homemade food stores.
This summer will hopefully see the sun shining and plenty of festival goers – family in tow! So why not give it try?!
