The World’s Largest Motorhome Is Put up For Sale!!!
Just when you thought you had seen it all, the world’s largest motorhome went on sale earlier this month after its terrific rebuild project. The ‘Der Bus’ is a German mammoth motorhome and has been officially registered in the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest motorhome.
At an astonishing 28 tonnes and 18 meters in length, it is hard to imagine what this German Goliath doesn’t have. According to the website www.derbus.de this larger than life motor home is up for sale, although the specific price is not known the record breaking home is set to cause a stir in the motor home world.
The level of luxury onboard, as well as the fame of being a record breaker, may lead to a motorhome bidding war rather than a set price.
The double-decker giant has a number of luxurious and extravagant qualities-from its VIP lounge and casino facilities to the capability to accommodate up to 144 guests. With a variety of different lounges and a number of different sleeping arrangements this motorhome is idea for any size family even those as big as the famous Waltons.
Interior features include white leather walls, which although not to everyone’s taste does portray a stylish and luxurious look and feel. The timber lined windows, corian worktops and chrome plated. Although a normal fitted kitchen with a sinks, oven and hob similar to other motorhomes, these appliances are powered by a 5.4kwh Zeise Camino 8 generator rather than an unusual leisure battery.
Built in 1997 the original motorhome was fitted with a 12-cylider Daimler engine which generates 436bhp, although a number of years old the ‘der bus’ still performs close to its original specification. Although since then the interior has had a revamp the original air conditioning and a 470 litre water tank no matter where you took this motor home you would feel right at home.
It is hard to imagine what this sized motor home would cost to run and insure but one thing that is for sure is that no matter where in the world you were if you were driving one of these you would be King of the Road!!!
